College cash available in East Dundee

The East Dundee Dynegy Scholarship applications are now available at East Dundee village hall, 120 Barrington Ave., East Dundee.

This scholarship is given in cooperation with Dynegy as a way to recognize superior academic achievements for a student planning on furthering his or her education at a fully accredited college or university of his or her choice. The scholarship will be awarded to an East Dundee resident who is a graduating senior from high school or a current college student attending at least part time with a grade-point average of 3.2.

The recipient will receive $1,000 each year for up to four years. The winner must be registered no later than the fall semester following high school graduation, and if the winner does not complete registration within one year of the receipt of the award, the $1,000 will be paid to the alternate.

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a graduating senior from high school and attending a fully accredited college or university during the fall semester or an East Dundee resident currently attending a fully accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.2.

Applicants must submit a completed application, an official high school transcript or college transcript, a copy of their ACT scores, and include a personal essay of 750 words or less and two letters of recommendation.
