Pistons' Wallace in for Garnett

Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has withdrawn from the NBA All-Star Game and was replaced on the Eastern Conference roster by Detroit forward Rasheed Wallace.

The announcement was made by the commissioner's office after Garnett missed his seventh consecutive game with an abdominal strain. Celtics coach Doc Rivers, who will coach the East in Sunday's game in New Orleans, said Garnett will not play until after the break.

Wallace will join Pistons teammates Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton for the game New Orleans. It will be his fourth all-star appearance.
