Gherson, Little star

Goaltender Robert Gherson stopped all 21 shots he faced, and rookie Bryan Little netted an early goal to lead the streaking Chicago Wolves to a 2-0 victory over the Manitoba Moose at the Allstate Arena on Sunday.

The Wolves (35-13-1-0), who lead the American Hockey League West Division, captured their fourth straight victory and second shutout win in their last three games.

Gherson (5-4-0), who was making his first appearance since Jan. 19, has two of the Wolves' three shutout victories this season despite appearing in just 12 games.

Little slipped a rebound past Moose goalie Drew McIntyre (24 saves) at the 13:36 mark of the first period.

The Wolves' Jason Krog, the AHL's leading scorer, added a short-handed empty-net goal with 1:24 left to ice the victory.

The victory over Manitoba (26-20-2-2) was the Wolves' 19th win in 25 home games this season, matching the total last season's team posted in 40 home games.

The Wolves' 71 points are the most in franchise history through 49 games.
