Snow plows should do major roads first
To the editor: I was traveling down Arlington Heights Road yesterday (Feb. 6) during the snow storm. I have lived in the Chicago area all my life and in Arlington Heights for the past 29 years, but still am scared to death to drive in that much snow.
The road was terrible and it was easy to see it had yet to see a snowplow or a salt truck, which I thought was understandable until I turned on a side street to make my way to my house and saw one village trucks clearing a cul-de-sac and another truck going down a side street plowing it. Give me a break. Wonder if a village employee lived on either of those streets? I have no problem with your street being plowed before anybody else's but at least do the main roads first that we all use. Great way to see my tax dollars at work.
