More people need common sense
For the life of me, I can't understand people that come up with thoughts like "discriminatory voter ID law must be rejected."
My mother had an ID card from the DMV in the 1980s because she did not drive. It made life so much easier when she needed identification. As far as I know, to get one does not cost anything.
Cynthia Tucker thinks that ID's for voting is designed to block the votes of people of color. How about the idea that it is designed to block illegal people from voting. To get an ID you need to show a birth certificate to prove you were born here, or are a legal citizen.
I grew up in the 1960s in Evanston, and I had friends of every religion and cultural background. My family was considered poor, (my dad worked two jobs to support my mom and I) but we all had common sense.
I wish more people would use their common sense in our world today.
