Ticket deadline is today
Tickets for the seventh Rolling Meadows Community Prayer Breakfast must be purchased by today. Tickets for the event, scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Saturday at The Community Church of Rolling Meadows, 2720 Kirchoff Road, are available at Community Church, Kingdom Life House of Prayer, Cardinal Drive Church of Christ, Meadows Baptist Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Colette Catholic Church and Bethel Lutheran Church or by calling (847) 255-5510. They are $10 each. The speaker will be Chaplain Major Steve Cooper of the Illinois Army National Guard, who has 17 years of military service and was stationed in Iraq from January 2004 through February 2005.
Direct deposit is safest
As part of February Go Direct Month, Arlington Heights Mayor Arlene Mulder, 33rd District State Sen. Dan Kotowski, Lawrence Keillor of the Social Security Administration and Arlington Heights Police Officer Douglas Hajek will inform senior citizens about the safety benefits of direct deposit for their federal benefit payments. Board of Review appeal
The Cook County Board of Review will be open from Feb. 13 to March 20 for Palatine Township residents to file an appeal to their recent property tax assessments. Residents who filed an appeal with the county assessor's office and did not get a favorable ruling can file an appeal with the Board of Review.
