Baseball camps: The 2008 Notre Dame Dons Baseball Program will offer its sixth annual winter baseball camps from 9:30 a.m. to noon Sundays, this week and Feb. 17 and 24. The camps are conducted by Notre Dame's coaching staff and will consist of hitting, pitching and defense. All boys and girls in fourth through eighth grades are invited. Athletic Club Fashion Show: The second Annual Notre Dame High School Athletic Club Fashion Show is Feb. 21 at Beau Jolie Banquet Hall, 9950 Lawrence Ave., Schiller Park. The theme is "Light the Passon, Share the Dream." The tickets are $45 each. For details, call (847) 965-2900.
Grammar School Basketball Tournament: Notre Dame High School's Athletic Club will host its fourth annual Hot Shot Classic 3-on-3 basketball tournament for boys and girls in fourth through eighth grades March 7-8 at Maryville Academy, 1150 North River Road, Des Plaines. NDHS Seeking Class of 1977: The 30th reunion for the Class of 1977 will be at 7:30 p.m. April 11 at Notre Dame High School, 7655 West Dempster St., Niles. Shadow Day Visits Available: Notre Dame High School welcomes any eight-grade boys to visit and experience the spirit of the Notre Dame community.
Through the Shadow Program, each visitor is assigned a present Notre Dame student -- usually a freshmen -- to guide them through a typical day at Notre Dame, which includes going to classes, participating in the events of the day and having lunch.
Individual students wishing to shadow at Notre Dame should call LaVerne Bontempo at (847) 779-8615.
Notre Dame also hosts groups of students from given schools. Grade school groups wishing to participate should have their teacher or principal call the Enrollment Office and let them know the date they want to visit.
Students can download the Notre Dame Shadow Day Form by visiting www.ndhsdons.org/admissions. The Shadow Day form must be completed and brought to the visit.
Online Alumni site: In an effort to reconnect alumni to the school and each other, Notre Dame High School recently unveiled DonsAlumni.org, a resource to help alumni find old classmates and friends and see what's happening at the school.
