Cisco says buyers remain cautious
NEW YORK -- Cisco Systems Inc gave a weaker-than-expected revenue growth forecast and said its U.S. and European customers were being increasingly cautious. The technology bellwether, which makes network equipment for phone companies and other businesses, also said it would not provide a view for fiscal 2008 due to uncertainty. Cisco forecast fiscal third-quarter revenue to rise 10 percent year-on-year, short of the 15 percent growth expected by Wall Street, according to Reuters Estimates. The outlook overshadowed a 7.2 percent increase in Cisco's second-quarter profit, which was in line with expectations.
