Blue Jays, Rios agree on deal

Outfielder Alex Rios avoided salary arbitration by agreeing Tuesday to a $4,835,000, one-year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Rios has career highs with 24 home runs and 85 RBIs last season while batting .297.
Rios earned $2,535,000 last year.
A two-time All-Star, Rios was Toronto's first-round pick in the 1999 amateur draft. He broke into the majors in 2004.
