Aurora traffic crackdown
Aurora police said Tuesday that an overnight traffic detail that ran into the early morning hours of Sunday resulted in 23 citations, nine written warnings and five traffic-related arrests. Police said they specifically were looking for traffic violations at several intersections that account for the highest number of accidents in the city. Officers put a special emphasis on stopping drunken drivers, but said they made no DUI arrests during the special patrols. Similar enforcement efforts will continue in the future, police said.
