WASHINGTON -- DuJuan Summers had a career-high 24 points, and No. 6 Georgetown used a 12-0 run late in the first half to overcome a horrendous start and beat South Florida 63-53 Tuesday night.

Summers made eight of 13 field goals, including 4-of-8 3-pointers, and had nine rebounds to lead the Hoyas (19-2, 9-1 Big East) to their sixth straight win and 18th in a row at home. Roy Hibbert, who had his hands full with Kentrell Gransberry, missed his first three shots but finished with 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Hoyas shot just 39 percent, the worst performance of the season for a team that entered the game leading the Big East with a 50.3 percent average.

Dominique Jones scored 15 points, and Gransberry had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls (10-13, 1-9), who have lost nine straight.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Chris Lofton made six 3-pointers in scoring 26 points, and Tennessee beat Florida.

Tyler Smith and JaJuan Smith each had 23 points and Duke Crews added 10 for the Vols (20-2, 7-1 Southeastern Conference), who are off to their best start in team history.

Florida (18-5, 5-3) led by as many as 13 points during the first half and entered the second with a 48-44 lead. Alex Tyler's layup with 17:59 to go increased the Gators' lead to 52-46.

But Tennessee, which made 13 3-pointers, took the lead at 16:02.

Marreese Speights led Florida with 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Dan Werner added 18 points, Nick Calathes had 15 and Jai Lucas had 10.
