STOP's choice for chairman says much

I thought the Daily Herald's Jan. 15 article about STOP endorsing Jim MacRunnels for Kane County Board chairman was a real eye-opener.

The organization founded by Karen McConnaughay endorses her opponent. That tells me a lot about how unhappy people are with McConnaughay's ability to run Kane County.

Check out her response: "After 15 years, I don't know much about what's going on in that organization." This indicates just how out of touch she is with the residents of this county.

That explains how she continually spends money without thinking about the consequences her actions will have on our future tax bills.

It may too late to stop her spending spree, but we can keep the damage to a minimum by electing MacRunnels, someone who will look at the balance in the checkbook before he writes another check.
