Laesch only chance for any real change
Given the outcry for "change" we all hear from both sides of the political aisle, it was disappointing that the good folks on the Herald editorial board would choose "business as usual" in their endorsements of the Republican and Democratic primary candidates for our district's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
For reasons that escape me, the Herald seems to feel that business experience is good and relevant background for this job.
In fact, however, our country has been "managed" by former business executives for the past seven years.
The leadership these men and women have bestowed upon us has resulted only in disaster in every arena.
Surely even the thickest observer of the political scene can see that managing a business and managing a government are not the same, and, if the current administration is any measure, apparently are at great odds.
The only candidate in either primary who guarantees advocating major change in our government is John Laesch.
The Herald is correct when it says there is scant difference between Jim Oberweis and Chris Lauzen. And Bill Bob Foster is simply Republican Lite.
More than any other candidate, Laesch reaches out to the middle and lower middle classes. He is the only candidate who demonstrates an understanding of the catastrophe that is our health care system in this country, and the only one advocating a single-payer system.
His background as a soldier (including extensive experience in the Middle East), as a "working man," as an environmental advocate, as a community activist, is the type of background that an excellent representative of the people needs.
