Greenberg deserves credit, despite story

Wow! Does everything have to be so negative no matter what side of the fence you may stand on? ("Stretching truth, or campaigning?" on Jan. 30, by writer Bob Susnjara).

Ironically I had breakfast with Steve Greenberg this morning and what I truly admired about this guy is that he is young, energetic, charismatic and quite frankly competitive; something and someone that the Republican Party sorely needs. He is not another "good 'ole boy" that has forgotten their role and their constituency. Mr. Susnjara quotes two political science professors, Kent Redfield and John Jackson and asks "when can the word 'lie' be attached to a candidate's resume?" This relates to Mr. Greenberg's comment that "only physical injury prevented him from playing in the NHL."

I would say that anyone one step away from the major leagues has accomplished quite a bit to have gotten that far. Mr. Susnjara pointed out that Mr. Greenberg had 34 points in the 1989 - 1990 season. In case anyone hasn't checked, only three of our (professional) Blackhawks has scored more than 34 points thus far this season! Twenty three of thirty five roster players during the course of this year have scored less than 10 points.

Maybe Mr. Greenberg wasn't too far from the NHL after all! This guy deserves credit for dedicating himself to a passion of his and he nearly made it to the top. I think it is this type of dedication, talent and fight the Republican Party needs to put itself back on top.

In our discussion this morning it was quite apparent that Mr. Greenberg is not taking anything for granted; he is running to address the issues; bring reality back to the Republican Party and ultimately put control back into the hands of the people; not a select few in Washington who feel it is their God-given right to be there. Listen to what Mr. Greenberg has to say and visit his Web site, www.steveforus.com. More importantly I think we need be very, very careful of how we use the word "liars". As we are all very well aware, it is an extremely powerful word.
