Briefs: Baseball coaching clinic
The Kane County Cougars will conduct a youth baseball coaches clinic from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Fox Valley Strikers Soccer Training Facility, on Kirk Road between Elfstrom Stadium and the Fox Valley Ice Arena, in Geneva. Tax-prep help available
Waubonsee Community College provides tax-return preparation services for low- to moderate-income people as part of the Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Tax assistance sessions are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Aurora campus, 5 E. Galena Blvd. Families with annual incomes of less than $40,000 are eligible for assistance, as are individuals with annual incomes of less than $15,000. People seeking tax help should bring a copy of their 2006 tax return, if they have one; W-2 forms and 1099s from all 2007 jobs; Social Security cards for all family members; and a photo ID. Presidents visited Geneva
The Geneva History Center has a special exhibition, "The President is Coming," through March 1. Learn about the U.S. presidents who paid a call to Geneva. In addition, this exhibition will include rare photographs and campaign memorabilia, some dating to the Civil War. The Geneva History Center is at 113 S.
