Illini upset No. 19 Ohio State
Jenna Smith had a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead host Illinois to a 68-64 victory over No. 19 Ohio State on Thursday.
Illinois (12-9, 4-6 Big Ten) went ahead for good, 57-54, on a 3-pointer by Lori Bjork with 5:55 left.
Ohio State (16-5, 7-3) pulled to 66-64 on Marscilla Packer's 3-pointer with 27 seconds left, but Bjork added 2 free throws with 12 seconds left to seal the victory.
Bjork finished with 16 points, including three 3-pointers. Rebecca Harris added 14 points and Chelsea Gordon scored 10 points for the Illini, who lost to the Buckeyes in Columbus 43-42 on Jan. 17.
Jantel Lavender scored 19 points and Packer added 17 points, including four 3-pointers, for Ohio State.
Tennessee 68, Miss. 44: Shannon Bobbitt scored 14 points, and Candace Parker had 13 as Tennessee continued its defensive dominance of the Southeastern Conference in a 68-44 win over host Mississippi on Thursday night.
The second-ranked Lady Vols (19-1, 6-0) won their ninth consecutive game overall and their 16th straight against the Lady Rebels (8-11, 2-4), who received 20 points, 12 rebounds a 4 steals from Shawn Goff.
