It's slow going as snow snarls traffic, air travel
The snowstorm that started Thursday afternoon continues to make a mess of traffic throughout the Chicago area.
The snow began falling just before noon and continued through the afternoon, making the drive home from work a mess. Traffic times on Chicago expressways, in some cases, were more than 2 hours at the height of the evening.
In Elk Grove Village, a car crashed into the median on southbound Route 53 about 2:30 p.m. today, forcing the closure of three lanes and tying up traffic.
