Early morning crash in Lindenhurst injures two

Two people were hospitalized Thursday when their vehicles hit head-on in Lindenhurst.

Lindenhurst police said the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Grand Avenue, near Deerpath Drive.

The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team was activated and is assisting police in the investigation.

One of the victims was transported by ambulance to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The second was taken by Flight for Life to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, said Cmdr. Kevin Klahs.

The victims' names are not being released until families are notified.
