Carlson always has district on his mind
I am writing to offer my heartiest endorsement of Jan Carlson for Kane County Board District 26.
I have known Jan for several years and can attest that he is one of the hardest working elected officials in the county. Jan has a proven record of holding down spending for the county and keeping our taxes low.
Numerous times I have spoken to Jan in the afternoon to hear about him spending the entire day on various aspects of the county's business.
He is a tireless worker that has the best interest of the county and the residents of District 26 in mind. Mr. Carlson's opponent in the District 26 primary has essentially rested his campaign almost exclusively on a single issue -- his work on the Settlements of LaFox plan.
What his opponent fails to point out is that this highly unusual negotiation between a private developer and a citizen's group was suggested by Mr. Carlson and could have only happened with Mr. Carlson's support.
Jan Carlson took a risk by allowing a citizens group to directly negotiate with a developer, and now the leader of that citizen's group is biting the hand that fed it.
Jan Carlson is a proven problem solver.
He recently worked with county staff to develop an innovative solution to get the Dobson roadway bridge in Mill Creek completed.
As chairman of the Transportation Committee on the county board he helped to bring funding to needed transportation improvements by revising the traffic impact fee to require developers to help pay more for roadway impacts.
Carlson is a leader that has been praised by Republicans and Democrats alike and someone that has brought meaningful improvements to the citizens he has represented.
