Don't give home rule to Villa Park

Back in the 1980s Villa Park had home rule, and the citizens voted to take it away from the village board. None of the promises that this board makes is binding on future trustees. Once you pass home rule, the village can enact any new taxes as they feel necessary. If home rule passes, you just voted for unlimited taxation and it would take at least two or three years to repeal it.

The taxpayers are only being told half the story.

Vote NO on home rule.
