• A pizza delivery man told police he was robbed at gunpoint Saturday, with the culprits making off with $70 in cash and four pizzas.
Police reports said the delivery man, who's spent one month working at a restaurant on the 900 block of north McLean Avenue, brought two pizzas to a home on the 900 block of Carol Avenue at 10:37 p.m., but nobody answered the door.
The pizzas were valued at $64.84, and their covers cost $40 total, reports said.
• Police are searching for a man and a boy that a male victim says robbed him Saturday both at gunpoint and knifepoint in the 700 block of Walnut Avenue.
Reports describe the boy as being between 15 and 16 years old, clean shaven and was last seen wearing a coat with yellow and black tiger stripes. The man, estimated to be between 20 and 22 years old, was wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket, white shoes and a beard, reports said.
• Angel Apolinar, 25, 600 Hill Ave., was arrested Sunday morning after he admitted to beating up another man with a beer bottle, police said. Apolinar, who gave a phony name to police to elude being arrested on two warrants -- one from Elgin and one from McHenry County -- was charged with a felony count of obstruction of justice and with resisting a peace officer after leading police on a brief foot chase, reports said.
