Parents bring their toddlers for 'mini-party' in Naperville

Louis Pace jammed out to the O'Jay's "Love Train" with his three little ones Sunday afternoon during a Baby Loves Disco event in downtown Naperville.

The Naperville man couldn't stop moving, and transferred his rhythm into his children, Cameron, 7, Serena, 5, and Trevor, 2.

Pascale Pace, his wife, said the family's never been to an all-family dance-out before.

"We heard about it and we thought we'd try it out," she said. "The two younger ones like it, and it's something different for them."

More than 300 parents and kiddies made it out to Rizzo's, at 6 W. Jefferson St. for Baby Loves Disco, a parent and adult party that kept everyone rowdy.

Tiffanie Sperling, Baby Loves Disco host/mommy said usually the events are held in downtown Chicago, but she thought it would be fun to bring the party to the suburbs, too.

"We always have something different, but it's mainly so the parents and kids can have fun together," she said. "We try to make it as much of a community event as possible."

Disco lights, balloons, bubbles, ribbon batons and snacks splashed through Rizzo's second floor as "I Will Survive" and "Ring My Bell" vibrated through the building.

Zion Cross, 3, of Melrose Park especially enjoyed the "Cha-Cha Slide."

He was completely in sync with his mom's every move until a balloon popped and he got frightened.

"I think it takes kids a while to warm up to stuff like this," said his mom Stacey Cross.

Patricia Wisnefski of Naperville also attended the mini-party with her husband, Stephen, and boys Max, 6, and Leo, 2.

"It's just an alternate activity considering it's the middle of winter and not much to do this time of the year," Wisnefski said.

It was the family's first Baby Loves Disco, and they said they absolutely loved it.

Wisnefski especially liked the specific age bracket so young ones could truly enjoy the dance floor. She also had fun with the prizes and overall organization.

"They did a really good job," she said, "catering to parents with toddlers and infants."
