Stimulus package not the answer

A stimulus package is a waste of the taxpayer's money.

A temporary increase in consumer spending would not help us deal all the problems facing the American economy such as the increased the cost of gas or health care.

It will not increase jobs here since most products are made in other countries now. It will not forestall bankruptcies caused by the same mechanism that caused the 1930s depression. By that I mean unregulated companies granting loans the customer who predictability will eventually not be able to afford the payment. Companies do this under the assumption that liquidation is always possible in a rising market.

It was obvious in the 1930s as it is now, that not everyone can get out of the market at the same time. If there is going to be a recession, it is the outcome of President Bush's policies and there is no point in wasting money in trying to protect him. The policies need to be changed if there is going to be any real improvement in our economy rather than wasting money trying to buy our votes.
