For change, cast a vote for John Laesch
Bringing about change from a government hijacked by corporate power is not a physics problem.
It is one that the voters in each congressional district can solve by electing independent candidates who understand our needs and will work for our best interests.
This is why we support John Laesch for the U.S. House in the 14th District.
John is not relying on personal wealth to sell his candidacy nor is he taking corporate money in any form.
You won't see expensive ads for John on TV, or receive gigantic glossy fliers in the mail.
What you may see instead are volunteers going door to door for him because they know John, and are confident he will represent us well.
As a veteran U.S. Navy intelligence officer in the Middle East, whose brother has served in Iraq (and is scheduled to return there this summer), John will work for a foreign policy that helps bring about peace in the Middle East.
As a union carpenter, he knows the needs of the middle-income worker in this district for decent jobs, affordable health care and good schools.
He supports a fair trade policy to protect our jobs and the environment, at the same time reducing pressure on Mexicans to immigrate.
He supports an immigration policy that protects our borders and also deals fairly with undocumented immigrants who are already here.
John has shown personal courage, both by serving our country in dangerous regions of the world and by running against an entrenched incumbent, Dennis Hastert, in 2006, when he won over 40 percent of the vote.
We will be voting for John Laesch on Feb. 5 -- in both the regular and special primaries.
We urge our fellow citizens to join us.
