Illegal parking yields arrest

A Chicago man was arrested by Cook County sheriff's officials on weapons and drug charges after he illegally parked outside the Skokie courthouse. Rene Ramon parked his minivan in the fire lane Thursday morning. After an officer questioned Ramon and learned his driver's license was suspended, a search of the car found a loaded gun and more than 20 grams of rock cocaine. Ramon was arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession with the intent to deliver and two other charges. The 22-year-old Ramon faces a bond hearing at the same courthouse where he was arrested.
