Pruitt's suspension still on hold
Bruce Weber plans to wait until Sunday to decide whether senior center Shaun Pruitt gets to play against Northwestern (7 p.m. Sunday, Big Ten Network).
Pruitt was suspended indefinitely prior to Illinois' loss at Ohio State on Tuesday for his behavior after the Illini lost at Purdue last Saturday.
"We'll just see how it goes the next couple days," Weber said Friday. "If he has a good attitude, positive attitude, he'll be fine.
"A lot will be determined by him and how he reacts to everything. We'll just kind of monitor him over the next couple days and then talk as a staff and talk to the upperclassmen and make a decision."
Pruitt, the 2004 West Aurora High School graduate, leads the Illini in scoring (12.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.9 rpg).
But his 6-foot-10, 255-pound body might be a detriment against the Wildcats, who don't play with a true center or even a true power forward.
Weber watched Northwestern's loss to Michigan State on Thursday night and noted how Spartans big men Goran Suton and Drew Naymick didn't have good defensive matchups.
