Todd Rundgren, 8 p.m. today and Thursday at the Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., Chicago. $52.50. Sold out. (312) 559-1212.

Now that his role-playing Ric Ocasek in The New Cars is over, famed rock eclectic, producer (XTC, Badfinger, Meat Loaf, Bad Religion), studio savant and cult songwriter ("Hello, It's Me," "Bang on the Drum All Day") Todd Rundgren returns with a four-piece band on a tour meant to cover songs that span four decades, from "Something/Anything" to his days in Nazz and Utopia, as a pop craftsman and as a beguiling experimental instrumentalist.

Chris and Heather's Winter Spectacular, 9 p.m. today at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., Chicago. $10. (773) 227-4433.

Chicago country music chronicler and cartoonist Heather McAdams kicks off each year with a new calendar highlighting Nashville stars from an era long past. This year the party is at the Hideout, featuring Chicago's finest paying homage, including husband/musician Chris Ligon, to country music stars through covers, lost film clips and other shenanigans. Set to sing are Robbie Fulks, Jon Langford, Sharon Rutledge and Casey McDonough among others.

Lenny Kravitz, 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Riviera Theatre, 4746 N. Racine Ave., Chicago. $42.50. (312) 559-1212.

Corporate rocker and revivalist songwriter Lenny Kravitz is waving his new-hippie flag high yet one more time with a new album, "It Is Time for a Love Revolution" (Capitol), and a tour linked with social network MySpace, allowing winners to join him on the road. The forthcoming album, covering his usual brand of soul-funk-stadium-rock, is his first in three years.
