Apply for state jobs online

People seeking state jobs now can apply for posts online. State officials announced Wednesday that candidates can log on to www.work.Illinois.gov to search and apply for jobs and track their application status. The system lets users focus searches by job description, location or salary. Users can sign up for e-mail notifications of job postings and create profiles that automatically re-enter standard information for each application. Officials promised the process also would eliminate favoritism because applicants would be chosen on merit, not by name.
