Packaging Corp. lowers forecast

LAKE FOREST -- Packaging Corp. of America, a Lake Forest maker of corrugated boxes, said this week first-quarter profit will trail analyst estimates. Profit will be 36 cents a share this quarter because of higher energy and raw-material costs and maintenance at two mills. Before the announcement, the company was forecast to earn 46 cents excluding items, the average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.
