Trust yourself, not the latest poll result

Interesting how the pollster's seemingly got it so wrong about the New Hampshire democratic primary results. Or did they?

Now they are supposedly scrambling around trying to uncover what led them to be caught short in their prediction of an Barack Obama walk-away win and a Hillary Clinton fall-on-her-face loss.

Ask yourself one simply question. Are these polls, upon which, unfortunately, many voters follow as gospel, being deliberately contrived by snake oil salesmen and purposely aimed at swaying your vote?

No way, you say. We voters are smarter than that. Do you take us for some lump of wet clay, passively sitting on a potter's wheel, politically gullible and easily molded? Yes, that is exactly how they view you, the voter.

Could the proliferation of political pollsters, better equipped than ever at assessing human response to properly placed stimuli, pose more threat to fair and free elections than a service?

The answer is, quite possibly, yes. Don't allow yourself to be moved by hyped reporting. Don't fall victim to gimmickry. Reject others' opinions. Be bold, get off that potter's wheel. As a voter, you have a cherished right unlike that of almost any other citizen in any other nation on this planet.

When you walk into that booth and close the curtain of privacy, take that right to heart. Educate yourself, gather the facts, weigh candidates positions on important topics and make an informed, mature judgment. Trust in your own thoughts, not what others would have you think.

Oh, by the way. If you would like to reject what I have said here, wonderful. That's a start to where I hope you will end up -- independent and in control of yourself.
