Power of tollway should be reined in
Why is the Illinois State Toll Authority given so much power to disrupt the live of Illinois citizens when its administrators are so inept at maintaining and providing accurate information?
They keep outdated driver addresses and although they collect and maintain data in databases, they were unable to provide the Daily Herald with the statistical information that was requested.
They run roughshod over Illinois drivers with overly severe penalties for missed toll road fees. And in this age of sky-high gas prices, what is being done with the windfall gas taxes the state is now getting? Why isn't this increase in revenue being used to lower tolls?
