Auditions
Auditions for "The Outsiders," by Christopher Sergel, adapted from the book by S.E. Hinton, will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and 18 at the Albright Theatre, 100 North Island Ave., Batavia.
The cast includes 10 young men ages 14 to 20 for the leads and an additional 10 young men for ensemble roles, including gang members for the rumble. All men will be educated in hand-to-hand stage combat.
Also needed are three to seven young women ages 16 to 20 for leads and ensemble, and two adult men and two adult women ages 30 and older for speaking roles.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. It is strongly suggested that those auditioning should be familiar with the book and the characters.

"Oliver" for children 11-18 in The Noble Fool Theatricals Performing Arts Academy Youth Ensemble's spring production at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, (630) 443-0438.
Open auditions will be held on the Mainstage at Pheasant Run today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Interested children should prepare a one minute monologue and 16 bars of a song. Bring sheet music for accompanist. Children may be asked to do a cold reading from the script. Cockney and English accents are very beneficial. Dance training is helpful, but not necessary. Children should bring a headshot and resume. There will be three performances between April 5 and 12.
Fox Country Players will hold auditions for "You Can't Take It With You" from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9 p.m. 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Plano High School, 704 W. Abe St.
The show will be presented in the high school's new auditorium on April 11-13.
Director Rich Bryan will ask those who audition to read from the script. Seven women and 13 men will be cast, with ages ranging from mid-20s to over-60s.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy was written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. It was first produced in New York in 1936, playing for 837 performances. It was the basis for Frank Capra's 1938 Academy Award winning film, which featured an all-star cast headlining James Stewart, Jean Arthur and Lionel Barrymore.
