Arlington Heights man found dead in Wisconsin

The body of Leslie Wroblewski, 58, was found in his blue Nissan Sentra in rural northwest Wisconsin on Monday, according to police.

Wroblewski apparently committed suicide and died from carbon monoxide poisoning, said Washburn County Sheriff Terry Dryden.

Officials won't know for sure how or when Wroblewski died until the autopsy is complete, Dryden said.

A note was found in the car. Dryden declined to say exactly what was written in the note.

"He didn't give a reason," Dryden said. "There was some personal stuff in there directed to his family."

Washburn County sheriff's police notified Arlington Heights police of the discovery about 1:45 p.m. Monday. Wroblewski's car was found about 1 p.m. by two men in a remote area of Bass Lake Township near a cell phone tower, Dryden said.

"It's not a highly traveled area," he said. "The two gentlemen walked up to the car when they couldn't drive around it. That's when they noticed things didn't look right."

Wroblewski used to have family members in the Washburn area, Dryden said.

"He did know the area to some degree," he said. "He had some family who owned property here, but that was years ago."

Wroblewski of Arlington Heights was last seen at 9:30 a.m. Friday, when he left for work at a Mount Prospect dental lab. He didn't leave any clues to his disappearance with his family.

Before he went missing, he did go to a Mount Prospect bank and withdraw $2,000, his daughter, Krystal Abbinanti, told the Daily Herald over the weekend.

He never spent the money. About $2,200 in cash was found in Wroblewski's car, Dryden said.

"He left saying goodbye, like he normally does," Kathy Wroblewski said Sunday. "My granddaughter was here with me. He said, 'Goodbye. See you later.' And he went off to work."
