You can have a voice on Deer Park issues

The village of Deer Park is turning to its residents to help fix road and drainage problems.

The village is hosting a public forum at which residents are encouraged to bring such issues to the attention of local officials.

"This is a way to get our concerned citizens to bring up any unknown problems," said Trustee Bob Kellermann, chairman of the village's roads and public utilities committee.

The public forum is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Vehe Barn, 23570 W. Cuba Road.

"What I am trying to do is get all the input I can to determine the priorities for the roads and drainage program," Kellermann said.

The village's current roads and drainage program was started in 2003. But Kellermann said the public input will update that program and help the village be more proactive in fixing problems.

"The residents are vital in giving us information on this," he said.

Residents who aren't able to attend the forum are still encouraged to voice their concerns. They can be e-mailed to Kellermann at bobkellermann@sbcglobal.net, or call him at (847) 526-7266.

Complaint forms can also be filled out at Deer Park village hall.
