Prochno good choice for district

To the editor: The weather is lousy and the economy is worse. The real estate boom is apparently over, and while property taxes are still on the rise, property values are either holding their own, or worse, falling.

Fortunately, we in the Northwest suburbs are feeling the effects of falling home prices less than in other places in the state and nation. Why? Because we have great schools. Families with kids in public schools and those without can appreciate the effect great schools have on local property values. Everyone wants to live where there are good schools, and they are willing to pay the price to do so.

Now, more than ever, we need smart representation in Springfield. We need someone who understands both the importance of great schools and how to fund those schools sensibly. That person is Christine Prochno. Chris is a public school teacher, and also a longtime Elk Grove Village trustee. She will advocate for our schools in Springfield, while keeping in mind the importance of smart school funding, with the goal of keeping our property taxes in check.

Christine Prochno has the experience the 66th District needs in Springfield. Too bad there aren't more like her to really fix what's wrong with our state government.
