Choose Laesch to follow Hastert

To the editor: I wholeheartedly support John Laesch to replace Dennis Hastert in the U.S. House 14th District.

Of all the candidates, John has the only clear, definitive plan to bring home all of our troops and end the Iraq war quickly. As a veteran, John understands the needs of our troops who have been horribly exploited and abused. He would work to reduce the power and influence of the war profiteers.

He is also the only candidate to call for a universal single-payer health-care plan that would give comprehensive coverage to all Americans. And he would address the extreme economic inequality which threatens our democracy.

Laesch is committed to clean elections. He is taking no PAC money. His goal is to restore a vigorous, grass-roots democracy and end the overwhelming influence of lobbyists and corporations in politics. He would also work to restore civil liberties and the rule of law.

I plan to vote for him in the special primary Feb. 5 and in the special election March 8.
