Inverness police warn of home burglaries

Barrington-Inverness police are warning residents of a series of recent residential burglaries.

Three homes in Inverness were burglarized overnight Thursday. A laptop computer was taken from a home on Canterbury Lane, a purse was taken from a house on South Ela Road and an iPod was stolen from a home on Marie Drive, police said.

Residents discovered the crimes in the morning, and there were no signs of forced entry into the homes, according to authorities.

Rolling Meadows and Buffalo Grove have also dealt with a recent rash of residential burglaries.

Both towns have warned residents to secure their homes and report any suspicious activity.
