Warren falls in tournament

Playing its third game in as many days, the Warren girls basketball team lost to Miramar (Fla.) Parkland Academy 46-30 as part of the MLK Dream Classic at Whitney Young in Chicago on Sunday.

The loss was just the second this season for the Blue Devils and snapped their five-game winning streak.

Parkland Academy, which is undefeated, built a 16-6 lead on Warren after one quarter and was ahead 27-12 at halftime.

Sarah Boothe led Warren with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. She was the Blue Devils' only player in double figures.

Parkland Academy received 16 points from Bianca Thornton and 14 apiece from Erica Wheeler and Chelsey Lee.
