Oberweis' methods, words leave her cold
I just heard an ad on the radio and I'm livid.
Chris Lauzen's opponent, Jim Oberweis, has joined the group that will do anything to win. That includes bending the truth or not telling the whole story.
I know both Chris and Jim. When Jim said he might run for Hastert's seat at the Illinois Center Right Coalition, where he and I were members of the steering committee, I asked him why he would do so when he knew Chris was running. Jim was doing to Chris Lauzen what Jim blamed Bill Brady for doing to him in the last governors' election.
Well, that's history, so to speak. But when Jim finally announced that he was going to run, at the end of that announcement, he said something like an afterthought that, oh, and Chris Lauzen might run against me. Really? Seems like it was the other way around.
Do I dislike Jim? No. Do I hate his type of politics? An emphatic yes.
Chris Lauzen's record in the Illinois General Assembly proves he votes the way he promised his constituents he would. Is that always "in line" with the Republican "combine," as some call it? No, And that is precisely why he isn't getting some of their support.
I live just outside of the 14th District, so I can't vote for Lauzen. But for those of you who can vote for him, I hope you'll consider what I've written and choose the man with character and honesty.
