Seals is not a typical politician

The first time I saw Dan Seals speak, I could see he was not your typical politician.

He had a gift for connecting with people and a vision for making America a better country. He understood the issues and was remarkably honest.

Someone asked him to talk about the health care system in Sweden. Seals said he could do that, and he could talk about medical care in Canada, Britain and Japan.

None of those systems was perfect, he said, but all of them are better than what we have now.

By contrast, Mark Kirk has attempted to mislead voters about his true political bent. On many issues, he has voted with the Bush administration.

The 10th Congressional District deserves better. We need intelligent, progressive leadership. Let's step up and elect Seals.
