Endorsement: Kane Board, District 14

Kane County Board member Mark Davoust could have endeared himself to some in his district by hurtling his body in front of the inevitable Kane County Jail steamroller a few years back. Instead he rightly supported a jail design that works for current budget constraints and future needs. That incurred the wrath of many Geneva Township residents, among them Tina Yagla, who is running against him in the GOP primary for Kane County Board District 14, which covers parts of St. Charles and Geneva townships.

Yagla was a leader in the anti-jail opposition group and is an aggressive advocate for her point of view on a variety of issues. But Davoust is a member of a successful board that has completed projects while also passing balanced budgets, making him the better choice.
