Rinne, Admirals shut out Wolves

Goaltender Pekka Rinne recorded saves on all 22 shots he faced as the Milwaukee Admirals beat the Chicago Wolves 4-0 the Allstate Arena on Wednesday night, snapping the Wolves' four-game winning streak.

The Wolves have been shut out twice this season, both at the hands of the Admirals.

Rinne (18-14-2) shut down the Wolves' offense, which came in with an AHL-leading average of 4.05 goals per game.

Rinne was backed by an offense that outshot the Wolves 45-22. The 25-year-old goalie also blanked the Wolves at the Bradley Center on Oct. 27.

• The Atlanta Thrashers assigned center Jim Slater to the Chicago Wolves for conditioning. Atlanta's first-round pick (30th overall) in the 2002 NHL entry draft, Slater has 29 assists, 44 points and 133 penalty minutes in 183 career NHL games spanning three seasons with the Thrashers (2005-2008).
