New Year's regrets, she has a few
This is the time of year when many people make resolutions and by the end of January, most of them have been broken or all together forgotten.
I do not make resolutions because it sets you up to fail. This year, however, I want to share some of my regrets. These come from television, radio, internet, publications and life in general.
1. I regret that when oil barrels go up in price, gasoline prices skyrocket, but when oil barrels go down in price, gasoline prices trickle down by pennies. (Can you say price gouging?)
2. I regret that almost every other TV commercial is about a drug that can help a medical problem of some sort. ( I really don't need to know about E.D.)
3. I regret that I have to be extra alert while driving a car because many of the people I encounter are multi-tasking while driving. ( Hello. Pay attention while you're driving and stop swerving in my lane)
4. I regret that while many people do not support the war in Iraq, a lot of them do not even support the troops. ( This is totally Un-American!)
5. I regret that American citizen rights are being squashed while the illegal alien rights are growing.
6. I regret the fact that the government feels the need to intrude on privately owned businesses and personal choices.
These are just a few of the regrets, but with regret comes hope and I just hope that next year my regret list is smaller.
