Phone tip leads to arrest

The first person nabbed in a new anti-drunken driving sting in Kane County is an Aurora man with a record of driving offenses, authorities said. Michael R. Saumell, 22, was arrested Jan. 2 in Sugar Grove after a motorist called 911 to report a suspected drunken driver, Kane County prosecutors said this week. Saumell was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other offenses. The DUI is a felony because his driver's license had been suspended for a prior DUI conviction. The arrest was a first under the Drunkbuster program, which gives $100 rewards to motorists who report drunken drivers.
