Support the TIF in Long Grove

As a Long Grove resident for 35 years, I thought it was time to say the following: I am for the proposed tax increment financing district.

I applaud the hard work, thinking, study/research, planning and recommendation of our elected and appointed village officials and administration.

I am for our community development and improvement. Long Grove needs it and has needed it for 25-plus years.

It will always cost money to make improvements (just like in your own home). Real estate taxes will always go up (no surprise). Real estate taxes have been going up and up, year after year for 35 years, and what do you know, we have not had TIFs to blame for our increased real estate taxes. Imagine that.

Everyone on the Long Grove village board and planning commission lives here. They are not trying to hurt their (our) community. They are trying to improve it.

I think the TIF is a practical, sensible, economical, effective, community way to proceed. I would like a wonderful community and town center that I can be proud of, enjoy, frequent and support.

TIF will allow great improvements. Let's get on with improving our town center, specifically the Crossroads area. Let's be positive and let's support our village officers and officials.

I support them and their TIF recommendation. Please consider doing the same.
