Man robs Palatine store

A masked man armed with a gun took off with money, cigarettes and lottery tickets after robbing a Palatine convenience store Monday. Police responded to the Community Food Mart, 2391 N. Hicks Road at 7:32 a.m. after the clerk called 911 to report the robbery, Palatine police said. The clerk said the man walked into the store wearing a black ski mask, displayed a weapon and demanded the items. He then left the store, going north on foot, police said.
