Glen Ellyn village officials approved the construction of a new, high-end townhouse development Monday night.
Irongate Land Development, L.L.C. received the go-ahead to build a 20-home townhouse development at 350 Duane St. The properties on the 1.1-acre site will start selling at about $600,000 and go up to $1 million, Irongate Chief Operations Officer Gary Welch said.

The site, located on the north side of Duane Street between Lorraine Street and Evergreen Avenue, is currently a multi-tenant building that houses industrial builders. The property to the west consists of apartments, and across the street are single family houses.

Construction's expected to begin in the summer, and the development is scheduled for completion about 18 months after. The townhouses range from 2,400 square feet to 3,200 square feet.
