FTD stock soars on profit increase

DOWNERS GROVE -- Flower delivery service FTD Group Inc. said second-quarter net income jumped 50 percent, to $9 million. Revenue rose nearly 2 percent, to $155 million, FTD said in a statement. FTD will release more detailed results by the end of the month, it said. FTD shares added $1.67, or 18 percent, Monday to close at $10.97 for the largest advance since the company went public in February 2005.
