Special events: The Northwest Suburban Recreation Association has scheduled several special events for the next few months. These include a Hawaiian Luau and Winter Play Day in January, a Pirate's Adventure and trip to Dave & Buster's in February, a trip to P.F. Chang's and Springtime Fun Camp in March, and trips to the Chicago Bulls vs. Toronto Raptors and Cantigny in April. Any person with a disability may register for these events by today for events occurring through March and by March 24 for events occurring from March to May. Spring camps: The Northwest Special Recreation Association offers spring camp during the week of March 24-28. Students with disabilities are invited to camp with NWSRA at one of four locations: NWSRA/Park Central in Rolling Meadows, Alcott Community Center in Buffalo Grove, Hoffman Estates Community Center in Hoffman Estates, or the Meineke Center in Schamburg. Camp will be held for students ages 3-21, and include gym activities, crafts, swimming, games, socialization and two community outings.
NWSRA also offers transportation at pickup and drop-off locations throughout the northwest suburbs. The fee is $112.50 for all four camps. For details, call Emily Meyer at (847) 392-2848 ext. 226.
