Best & Brightest

• Kristine Marie Pearson, daughter of Ed and Barbara Tomaszkiewicz of Round Lake, was accepted to the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Des Moines University, Iowa, and began attending during the fall semester. She also joined the United States Air Force and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in December.

Pearson is a 2002 graduate of Grayslake Central High School and 2006 graduate of Bethel College, Mishawaka, Ind.

• Shayna Mortensen of Lindenhurst graduated May 19 from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights.

• Stacey Snyder of Gurnee received a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing and management from the College of Business and Public Administration at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, after the 2007 spring semester.

• Robert Kenneth Janke, son of Ann Janke of Lindenhurst, received a bachelor of science degree from Bradley University in Peoria at the May 19 commencement ceremonies.

• Kara Hartman of Lake Villa, a junior at North Central College, Naperville, was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education, at a May 15 ceremony held during the College's Honors Day.

• Columbia College in Missouri named the following students to the dean's list for the 2007 August session. To be named, a student must complete 12 semester hours and achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or greater on a four point scale.
